Terms & Conditions
Scheduled Walking Tours

Definitions
All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
All prices on our website supersede all prices previously advertised. We reserve the right to change advertised prices for our tours at any time, but changes will only apply to bookings made after the date of change.


Your Acceptance
By booking a guided walking tour with us, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please take a moment to read them.


Booking
ÅŒtautahi Highlights Walk & The Arts Centre Guided Walk
1 June – 31 August: book online by 6pm on the evening before the walk. No walk-ups.
1 September – 31 May: book online to secure your spot. Walk-ups may be possible, subject to availability. 


ÅŒtautahi Cultural Precinct Tour
Bookings must be done at least 72 hours before tour begin.
In person bookings (subject to availability) can be made at The Arts Centre’s Clock Tower, 2 Worcester Boulevard (open daily 10.15am – 3.30pm).


Cancellation Policy
Your booking with Walk Christchurch is flexible and we want you to have a great experience. If you need to make any changes to you travel itinerary, you may choose to postpone your tour to a different scheduled date or cancel your booking. Walk Christchurch charges no fees for eligible cancellations. 


In very adverse weather a walk may be cancelled for safety reasons and a refund given. 
For a cancellation request, email walkchristchurch@gmail.com with your name, tour date and Sale ID.


ÅŒtautahi Highlights Walk & The Arts Centre Guided Walk
Cancellations made up to 24 hours prior to the tour commencement are eligible for a full refund.

 
Cancellations received within 24 hours of departure, late arrivals, and no-shows after a tour departs are considered a donation to the maintenance of The Arts Centre’s heritage buildings.

ÅŒtautahi Cultural Precinct Tour
Cancellations made up to 72 hours prior to the tour commencement are eligible for a partial refund. Walk Christchurch will deduct $50 of the sale price to cover resulting administration expenditures. 


Cancellations received within 72 hours of departure, late arrivals, and no-shows after a tour departs are considered a donation to Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna Waiwhetū, Ravenscar House, and Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre.


Late Arrivals or No Shows
We recommend you arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled starting time of the walk. Upon arrival, our visitor services team will check your booking and introduce you to the guide. The tour will start promptly on time. 


If you arrive late or cannot find the meeting point, refund requests cannot be accepted. 
You may be able to join the group after the tour has started, depending on the delay. The decision lies with the visitor services team.


Amendment Policy
You may reschedule your booking, free of charge, with any requests made up to 72 hours prior to the tour. Changes are subject to availability. 


Changes to these Conditions
The Arts Centre reserves the right to vary these Terms and Conditions at any time. In the event of such changes, the new conditions will apply for all tours booked after the date and time of these changes. Health & Safety
All leisure activities have inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to, crossing roads, oncoming traffic, walking on uneven or slippery surfaces, weather exposure, or climbing steps. Walkers must be physically fit and have fully disclosed to the guide of any conditions that might affect your ability to walk safely including (but not limited to) heart conditions; epilepsy; pregnancy; asthma; disabilities/physical impairments. 


The ÅŒtautahi Christchurch City Walk is fully accessible by wheelchair and Mobility Scooter.  


All tours begin with a Health & Safety briefing. When touring The Arts Centre, guides will give more information specific to the heritage site.


You agree to follow the instructions of the guide and respect the sites visited on the tour.

Non-liability of Walk Christchurch/The Arts Centre for loss 
Under no circumstances will The Arts Centre make good or accept responsibility or liability in respect of any loss, theft or damage caused or sustained in any way to the Client or the Client’s property, goods, articles or things brought on the tour for the Client’s use or purpose, or left or deposited with any officer or servant of The Arts Centre. The Client must indemnify and hold The Arts Centre and its officers harmless in respect thereof.


The Arts Centre will not be liable for any loss due to any failure of supply of electricity, leakage of water, fire, government restriction, Act of God or any event that may cause the facilities to be temporarily closed or the tour to be interrupted or cancelled.


The Arts Centre (including its officers, trustees, staff, agents and subcontractors) will not be liable to the Client (including guests and patrons of the Client) for any personal injury, damage or loss arising from participation on a walking tour and the Client indemnifies and holds harmless The Arts Centre from such damages and / or losses except where solely and directly attributable to the deliberate action or gross negligence of the Arts Centre. In any event, the maximum liability of the Arts Centre in respect of any event, will be limited to the fees paid for the tour by the Client.
